“Look no further than Green Adventures. You will be happy you did.“

In July of this year, I wanted to go fishing in the beautiful Lake of the Woods area. I do not have my own boat so I did a search and found the Green Adventures website. I contacted them and requested a 3 day rental. I send a check for a deposit and unfortunately had to cancel due to family problems. I also put a deposit on a hotel room as well. After contacting the hotel I was informed my $200 deposit would not be returned. To my complete astonishment I explained my situation to Scott Green the owner and asked if I could have a credit for the deposit I supplied. Scott was kind enough to let me keep a credit on record.

In the second week of September and the weather unseasonably nice for that time of year, the urge to fish came over me. I phoned Scott at 4 pm and by 8 pm he got back to me. I explained I would like to drive out tomorrow and do some fishing. Scott met us the following morning at a public dock at 7 am, launched the boat, gave us a quick overview and told us to have a nice day. Well boy, did we ever!! 28 Celsius and sunny, caught lots of fish, boat was absolutely fantastic.

Scott provided us with a boat on less then 12 hours notice, met us at time agreed upon and kept his word. That to me is worth ten times what we actually paid to rent the boat. So if your looking to go fishing in the Lake of the Woods area, want a good boat, fair prices and like to deal with companies that treat their customer’s first class, then look no further then Scott Green’s “Green Adventures”. You will be happy you did.

To achieve a “Canadian Wilderness Experience” by canoe, as part of my visit to Canada, I could not have chosen a more professional and skilled organization than GREEN ADVENTURES, led by Scott Green. Starting just out of Kenora in Northern Ontario our small group paddled gently for 5 days across magnificent lakes, including 3 short portages and 3 short rapids, entertained by watchful Bald Eagles, dancing Loonies and industrious Beavers. To experience the mirror-like lakes set against the forested horizons of Fir and Spruce in brilliant sunshine, let alone the astonishing sunrises and sunsets, is a unique experience.

The quality of the canoe, kayak and camping equipment was excellent as was the food. All our meals were of generous portions and expertly and innovatively prepared by Scott. At all times did our group feel totally safe under Scott’s leadership, whether it was the running of the rapids, navigating the lakes or selecting and setting up the campsite. To hear Scott, around the campfire, tell of the voyageurs, trappers and First Nation people who have contributed so much to Canada’s identity as a last frontier nation was something special. We wanted to have the quintessential Canadian experience – a canoe trip in the iconic Canadian Shield and Boreal Forest. What Scott Green delivered was beyond our highest expectations. Our 76-kilometre, 5-day paddle brought us through the most beautiful wilderness we have ever seen. Our companions were countless moose, beaver, eagle, otter, fox and loons. Our scenery ranged from placid, winding rivers to expansive blue lakes, from gorgeous green forests to ochre-coloured rock formations and raging white waterfalls. Scott took great care of us. The paddling was challenging, but safe. The campsites were accessible and well chosen. And there was plenty of time each day for fishing, swimming, relaxing and stargazing.

Scott gave us the exhilaration we craved, while keeping us safe from harm. His enthusiasm and energy are only matched by his expert knowledge of the land and how to enjoy it safely. He worked hard to make this our trip of a lifetime. And it was, except that now we’re going to do this every year with Green Adventures. So it’s really our first of many green adventures with Green Adventures.
